Cookie policy
Cookies and similar tools used by the website www.zafferano.org.

In brief
- On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept Google Analytics statistics cookies. «Accept» and «Reject» carry the same weight; closing the banner with the × counts as a rejection. Without consent the website works in exactly the same way.
- Before you choose, or if you reject, no cookie is set and the website does not contact third-party services: even the fonts are loaded from our own website.
- The website does not use advertising or profiling cookies.
- When you open one of the «Subscribe» or «Newsletter» forms, HubSpot (which manages the forms) and Google reCAPTCHA (which protects them from spam) set some technical and security cookies, described in section 5.
- You can change your choice at any time from «Cookie preferences» at the bottom of every page or from the «Cookie» button at the bottom left.
1. Controller

2. Your choices
- Banner: «Accept» enables statistics cookies; «Reject» or the × leave only the technical tools active. Your choice lasts 6 months, then we ask again; we also ask again if the banner text changes.
- Changing your mind: from the «Cookie» button at the bottom left, always visible after your first choice, or from «Cookie preferences» at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, the website immediately stops loading Google Analytics and deletes its cookies.
- Forms: if you do not open the «Subscribe» and «Newsletter» forms, neither HubSpot nor Google reCAPTCHA is contacted. You can also ask for the magazine or the newsletter by writing to info@zafferano.org, without using the form.
- Browser: you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings (section 6).

It is used only to respect your choice and therefore does not require consent (Art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code).
Record of choices. To be able to prove consent, when you choose in the banner we send a copy of your choice to our record: random code, choice, version of the banner text, page, browser type and operating system, date and time. We do not store the IP address, the service receiving the choices keeps no access logs and the record uses no cookies. The record is kept on Amazon Web Services in the European Union (Ireland), is not accessible from the web, is consulted only to answer a request and each record is deleted automatically after 12 months. The first 8 digits of the code appear in «Cookie preferences»: you can quote them if you ask us about your choice. Details in the Privacy policy.
4. Statistics cookies (only with your consent)
If you choose «Accept», the website loads Google Tag Manager, which enables Google Analytics 4 to measure visits statistically. Before you choose, or if you reject, neither is loaded. Google Tag Manager is configured to allow statistics only (Consent Mode: statistics granted; advertising, advertising data and personalisation denied): advertising features stay disabled. Statistics data are kept in the Google Analytics property for 14 months.

5. Cookies set when you open the «Subscribe» or «Newsletter» form
Each form opens in a window of the website but is served by HubSpot (domains hsforms.com and hubspot.com). These cookies are created only after you click «Subscribe» or «Sign up for the newsletter».

These are technical security cookies, linked to the form you chose to open: they are used only to protect it from automated abuse and therefore do not require consent (Art. 122(1) of the Italian Privacy Code). Google processes them as a sub-processor of HubSpot and does not use them for advertising. Until you open the form, neither HubSpot nor Google reCAPTCHA is contacted.
The newsletters contain no tracking pixels: see section 2 of the privacy policy.
6. Browser settings
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge.
If you block third-party cookies, the «Subscribe» and «Newsletter» forms may not work. In that case you can write to us at info@zafferano.org.
